JAMIE NEWSOM booked his first gigs at the age of 18, playing upright bass in the Army/Navy and Legion circuit in the greater Vancouver area. From there, he went clear across Canada to play with the Saint Thomas University Big Band in Fredericton, New Brunswick. They performed regularly throughout the Maritimes. He went on to lead his own
JAMIE NEWSOM booked his first gigs at the age of 18, playing upright bass in the Army/Navy and Legion circuit in the greater Vancouver area. From there, he went clear across Canada to play with the Saint Thomas University Big Band in Fredericton, New Brunswick. They performed regularly throughout the Maritimes. He went on to lead his own bands, big and small, and at some point decided to take up guitar and vocals. Jamie is a well-known musicians, as well as Celtic harp builder in the Bragg Creek area.
VALERIE HUDSON hails from Ontario, and her long career includes working as a session singer, lead singer/pianist/ guitarist in various Ontario bands; soloist with various orchestras, CBC TV appearances, recording with Tommy Banks, singing with Calgary Opera chorus and Cowtown Opera. Her two career highlights: being a singing Muppeteer in a movie; getting to sing Christmas carols at a private house party in Toronto accompanied by Oscar Peterson.
